The final rounds of the Antonio Mormone International Prize are taking place this week in Milan, comprising chamber music, solo and historical violin performances at the G. Verdi Conservatory, plus a final concerto performance at Teatro alla Scala.

Watch the performances from 19 June: US violinist Elli Choi presents her chamber music performance of Beethoven Trio in C minor op.9 no.3 with violist Benedetta Bucci and cellist Massimo Polidori.

South Korean violinist Anna Im plays her recital performance with pianist Chiao-Ying Chang. They perform Lutosławski Subito for violin and piano, Clara Wieck Schumann Three Romances for violin and piano op.22, Vacchi Sonatina V for violin (2023), Fauré Sonata for violin and piano no.1 in A major, op.13 and Tchaikovsky Valse-Scherzo op.34.

With the recital and chamber music performances completed, the finalists will perform the historical instrument round on Friday 20 June. Each contestant will play on a Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi violin (Milan, 1757) from the Conservatory of Milan historical instrument collection. Candidates must perform Franz Schubert’s Sonata in A major for violin and piano, Op. 162, D. 574 ‘Grand Duo’.
