Ettore Causa presents a documentary about his teacher and colleague, Alberto Lysy.
The film offers a journey through Lysy’s artistry, tracing his early beginnings, world-class performances and profound influence as a mentor to generations of musicians.
Causa describes presenting the documentary as an ’immense joy’.
’I had the privilege of being his student initially and later serving as his viola teacher for many years at the Menuhin Academy,’ Causa told The Strad. ’This experience has profoundly transformed my life, both artistically and personally.
’This film gives every one the possibility to discover the life of one of the very last romantic violinist of the 20th century and it is my personal tribute not only to his exceptional artistry but also to a unique and charismatic individual who has profoundly influenced the lives of countless young, talented musicians through his distinctive personality.’
