The cellist performed during the reading of the names of those who died at Ground Zero on 11 September 2001
Cellist Yo-Yo Ma performed the prelude from Bach’s Cello Suite no.2 in D minor during New York City’s 9/11 ceremony, which commemorates 25 years since the September 11 attacks.
Ma played as the names of those who died at Ground Zero in the attacks were read aloud. He began playing after a moment of silence to honour the victims.
Ma also played Bach during a 9/11 commemoration ceremony in 2011 in New York City.
