Recorded during the pandemic in 2020, an octet of cellists from the Sphinx Organization perform Bachianas Brasileiras no.5 by Heitor Villa-Lobos. The cellists are joined by soprano Raquel González, who received a Sphinx Medal of Excellence in 2019.
The cellists performing in the video are Christine Lamprea, Sterling Elliott, Gabriel Cabezas, Patrice Jackson, Gabriel Martins, Thomas Mesa, Ifetayo Ali-Landing, and Kendall Gonzales.
The Sphinx Organization is a social justice initiative dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in classical music at every level.
