The ensemble Delirium Musicum presents a spooky and eclectic performance of Danse Macabre by Saint-Saëns, fresh from its new album Cabinet of Curiosities on Warner Classics. The work was arranged by Gianluca Bersanetti.
Delirium Musicum a Los Angeles-based ensemble led by violinist Etienne Gara, and comprises musicians from ten different countries on four continents. Gara claims ’this creates a fantastically inspiring mosaic of cultures that enriches and expands our conception of music and is reflected in the repertoire of our new album’.
The album comprises pieces that span from the Baroque era to now: ’Think of it as an Advent calendar for listeners, where each piece opens a new window into a musical universe all on its own,’ says Gara. Included are classical music staples, film music from Pulp Fiction and Psycho, miniatures by Philip Glass, as well as other pieces to fill the gaps.
’Delirium Musicum and Cabinet of Curiosities both carry that mischievous DNA that transcends borders and bring the excitement that unapologetic passion and commitment trigger.
’My goal with Delirium Musicum is not only to irresistibly connect and engage with audiences everywhere, but also to make Classical music the new red hot concert experience,’ says Gara.
