The Joseph Bologne Violin Competition was held from 18 to 22 November 2025 at the Mémorial ACTe in Guadeloupe, hosted by the Festival International de Musique Saint-Georges.

The 2025 edition of the festival and competition commemorated the 280th anniversary of violinist and composer, Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Four finalists performed a violin concerto by Joseph Bologne, accompanied by the festival’s orchestra, led by its artistic and musical director, Marlon Daniel.

First prize of €20,000 and a professional concert engagement went to 23-year-old South African violinist, Jordan Brooks.

Brooks has enjoyed recent competition successes, including both the Strings and Overseas prizes in the ROSL International Music Competition, the prize for the best Chinese work in the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition, as well as prizes at all the South African national competitions, including first prize in the National Youth Music Competition in 2019.

25-year-old Polish violinist Karolina Podorska won second prize of €10,000, while 22-year-old US violinist Dylan Hamme won third prize of €5,000.

This year’s competition jury was chaired by Hristo Popov and comprised Kinga Augustyn, Yuan Fang, Koh Gabriel Kameda and Clarisse Rinaldo.
