During much of Gustavo Dudamel’s orchestra’s performance for the opening of the Edinburgh Festival, which consisted of several iconic film scores by composers from Max Steiner to John Williams, the LA Philharmonic was accompanied by flocks of shrieking seagulls, with some of the birds reportedly dive-bombing spectators.
