Spanish violinist and rising star María Dueñas performs the Larghetto from Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Wiener Symphoniker, conducted by Manfred Honeck.

The video is taken from her live performance recording of the full concerto at the Vienna Musikverein in January 2023, which constitutes Dueñas’s Deutsche Grammophon (DG) debut album, Beethoven and Beyond.

Dueñas signed to DG in 2022. ’For me, Deutsche Grammophon quite simply means great music – I grew up listening to my mother’s vinyl DG recordings of Milstein and Oistrakh,’ she said upon her signing. ’So of course I’m thrilled to join the label myself and especially to have the opportunity to record one of the greatest violin concertos ever written. Exploring the Beethoven and developing my interpretation of this work with the wonderful Wiener Symphoniker and Maestro Honeck is a dream come true.’
