Noémie Bialobroda and Hélène Clément will join the Haute École de Musique de Genève in September 2026

Violists Noémie Bialobroda and Hélène Clément have been appointed as viola professors at the Haute École de Musique de Genève (HEM) in Geneva, Switzerland. They will begin in their roles in September 2026.
On social media, the school said:
’The Haute École de Musique de Genève is happy to welcome violist Hélène Clément to its teaching staff, where she will bring her impressive performance and pedagogical experience.
’With an equally dazzling performing career, we are also welcoming Noémie Bialobroda, who has already taught chamber music at the HEM and coordinated with great enthusiasm the programmes of our ‘Midis du Lundi’ musical rendez-vous.’
Bialobroda posted: ’The HEM is a school that I love and that inspires me, and where I am now incredibly happy to widen my role and open a new door dedicated to the viola.’
Originally from France, Bialobroda was most recently appointed as viola professor at the Lyon Conservatoire. Violist Emmanuel François will take over her class once she begins her role in Geneva. She is also a teacher at and founder of the Geneva International String Academy.
She studied with Jean Sulem at the Paris Conservatoire and at the HEM with Nobuko Imai and Miguel Da Silva. She has been a member of the Aviv Quartet since 2014, with whom she tours internationally and has recorded extensively.
She has played in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall and the Konzerthaus Berlin, and at the Verbier, Davos, Aix-en-Provence, Lubéron and les Folles Journées de Nantes festivals as part of the Aviv Quartet.
Clément is also a previous student of Jean Sulem’s in Paris, as well as Hariolf Schlichtig in Munich and Tabea Zimmermann in Berlin. She was the violist of the Doric Quartet for twelve years.
She has performed at venues including Vienna’s Musikverein, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and many others, as well as recording widely with both the Doric Quartet as well as other chamber musicians.
Alongisde her time in the Doric Quartet, she has also collaborated with a range of acclaimed musicians in chamber settings. This includes Mitsuko Uchida, Brett Dean, Nicolas Altstaedt, Benjamin Grosvenor, Peter Wispelwey, the Brentano Quartet, Quatuor Ébène and Nash Ensemble.
