Four cellists will perform a concerto on 8 November in Tongyeong, South Korea, for the chance to win the top prize of KRW30,000,000 (£16,000)

Four cellists have progressed to the final round of the 2025 Isang Yun Competition, following the semi-final rounds held on 5 and 6 November in Tongyeong, South Korea.
The final will be held on 8 November, where competitors will perform a concerto with the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, conducted by Leoš Svárovský. The finalists are:
Andrew Ilhoon Byun, Canada
A-Hyeon Choi, Korea
Jeri Lee, Korea
Youbien Lee, Korea
Byun, Choi and Jeri Lee will all perform the Dvořák Cello Concerto, while Youbien Lee has opted to perform Shostakovich Cello Concerto no.1.
Contestants will perform for the chance to win the top prize of KRW30,000,000 (£16,000), plus other prizes from a total prize pool worth KRW79,000,000 (£42,100). These include the Seong-Yawng Park Special Prize for an exceptionally talented young Korean participant, the UNESCO City of Music Special Prize audience award, plus future performance engagements.
All finalists will perform at the Winners’ Concert on 9 November at the Gwangju Arts Centre.
This year’s jury is chaired by Arto Noras, and comprises Clive Greensmith, Louise Hopkins, Doo-Min Kim, Kangho Lee, Troels Svane, Andreas Vierziger, Jian Wang and Hiroyasu Yamamoto.
