The United Strings of Europe performs the second movement of Mendelssohn String Quartet in F minor, arranged by the group’s artistic director, Julian Azkoul. The video was filmed at a recording session at St Silas Church, London in March 2021.
Speaking in The Strad’s February 2022 Session Report, Azkoul says, ‘I arrange quite a bit of music already for the ensemble, so I’ve always been interested in how arrangements can sometimes shed a different light on a piece of music and provide a different kind of insight to performers and listeners.’
