In this rare clip, conductor Lorin Maazel, who died in 2014, demonstrates his skills as a violin soloist, performing and conducting the third movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto no.3 with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

At various points in his life Maazel was music director of the Cleveland Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
