The academists were introduced during the orchestra’s first concert of the 2025/26 season

Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has announced that 13 new musicians will join its Academy, which aims to create a bridge between conservatory studies and the professional music world. Nine string players are among the new academists. They are:
Andrea García García (violin)
Anna Sanchis Llorens (violin)
Arthur Trælnes (violin)
Marija Radovanović (violin)
Pauli Paananen (violin)
Gesine Hadulla (viola)
José Carlos Palmero Casanova (viola)
Leonardo Petracci (cello)
Charles Cavailhac (double bass)
On social media, the orchestra said:
’We are proud to welcome a new group of academists for the 2025-2026 season! They were introduced during our first regular concert, playing Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä.They already play at an incredible level, blending seamlessly into the orchestra. We’re looking forward to creating a lot of music together and supporting their journey and development towards a professional music career.’
Alongside acting as a training opportunity for the musicians, the Academy also serves as a pool from which the orchestra can draw. Nineteen former Academy students are now fully fledged members of the orchestra.
The Academy is made possible by the Foundation Concertgebouworkest, which receives donations from, among others, Ammodo, Don Quixote Foundation, Gieskes-Strijbis Fund, Stichting TBI Fundatie, Companions, Dutch Masters Foundation, Swiss Global Friends of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, Business Club De Salon, and private donors including Commemorative Funds.
