The instrument was contained in a white Gewa Air case and was stolen from Kimmage on the evening of 22 April
A violin has been reported as stolen in Kimmage, a suburb in Dublin, Ireland. It belongs to Matthew Wylie, a member of the National Symphony Orchestra and a violin teacher.
The 2022 Mick de Hoog violin was stolen from his car outside his house on the evening of 22 April 2026, between 10pm and 9am the next day.
The instrument is described as ’stained in a dark brown varnish with a prominent wood grain, the label can be seen in the f hole of the instrument’.
The violin and two bows were contained in a white Gewa Air violin case. The handle on top of the case had a Lego bracelet with the word ‘violin’ written on it.
