Violinist Sylvain Hotellier has reported the theft of his instrument and two bows, which went missing overnight on 7 July 2026 in Pantin, a suburb in the northeast of Paris, France.
The violin was made in Cuneo around 1720–25 and bears the label Spirito Sorsana. It measures 33.5cm and has a one-piece back.

Two bows, both made of pernambucco, were also stolen: one Nehr bow (2022) with an octagonal stick, with ‘La Durance’ engraved on the top, plus one bow labelled Daguin-Panier.
The instrument and bows were contained in a black Riboni Uno e Otto case with a green pocket.

Anyone with information can contact Hotellier on (+33) 06 51 22 35 31.
