Serbian violinist Bogdan Božović assumes the role

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra has welcomed Serbian violinist Bogdan Božović as its new leader. He has already led the ensemble for its most recent tour in summer this year, also performing as the soloist for Mozart’s Violin Concerto no.5.
Božović was born in Belgrade and has studied with teachers including Vesna Stanković, Rainer Schmidt, and with Klara Flieder at the Mozarteum Salzburg. He rose to prominence as a member of the Vienna Piano Trio.
As an orchestral musician, he has performed as leader of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, as a member of the Esbjerg Ensemble, and as a guest concertmaster with orchestras including the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de chambre de Paris and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
He is also first concertmaster of Musikkollegium Winterthur and concertmaster of Ensemble Resonanz, roles that he will continue alongside his new position with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
‘We’re delighted to welcome Bogdan Božović as Leader!’ the orchestra shared on social media. ‘Bogdan is a sought-after leader, director and soloist, as well as a passionate chamber musician.’
