Music@Menlo Chamber Music Festival and Institute has appointed violinist Kristin Lee as director of its Chamber Music Institute. In the role, Lee will work closely with the festival’s artistic directors and oversee the institute’s artistic and educational planning, help shape its strategic vision, strengthen connections with its alumni, and extend educational reach.

Lee said of the new appointment:

’I was a participant of the International Program in 2009 and it led to my commitment to chamber music. Music@Menlo was a pivotal place that brought clarity on what being a musician means, and it’s an incredible honor to be able to take on this role to create a similar experience for the future generations.’

Lee is also the founding artistic director of Emerald City Music and a member of Chamber Music Sciety of Lincoln Center. As a soloist she has performed with orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Nordic Chamber Orchestra of Sweden, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, and others.

Violinist Arnaud Sussman and cellist Keith Robinson, alongside pianist Gilbert Kalish, were named directors of the Music@Menlo’s International Program, which offers emerging professional string players and pianists intensive chamber music study and opportunities to collaborate with festival artists.
