The Kanneh-Mason Piano Trio, formed of siblings Isata Kanneh-Mason (piano), Braimah Kanneh-Mason (violin) and BBC Young Musician winning Sheku Kanneh-Mason (cello), perform Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s arrangement of the spiritual ‘Deep River’.
Coleridge-Taylor, not to be confused with poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, was a mixed-race English composer and conductor who achieved great popularity in the early years of the 20th century, particularly with three cantantas based on the Song of Hiawatha.
