Troussov will assume his role of professor of violin at the University of Music and Theatre on 1 October 2025
The University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM) has announced the appointment of Kirill Troussov as professor of violin, beginning 1 October 2025.
’It is a great honour for me to become part of this prestigious music academy, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand,’ commented Troussov, who is an alum of the school.
’Teaching is my great passion. I look forward to inspiring and supporting the students on their professional path.’
As an educator, Troussov regularly gives masterclasses worldwide, at institutions such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the College of Music in Tokyo, the Colburn School in Los Angeles and the central conservatories of music in Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore. He is also the founder of the online platform Troussov Online Lessons.
He holds various positions at international competitions, academies and music festivals, including the Sarasate and Engers Academies, the Schoenfeld, Ysaÿe, Carl Flesch and Hong Kong violin competitions, and the Kaposvar and Ammerseerenade music festivals.
Troussov studied at the The University of Music Lübeck and the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Zakhar Bron. He completed his Master of Arts at the HMTM with Christoph Poppen.
He cites Yehudi Menuhin an an influence from an early age, and his extensive solo career has taken him to perform with numerous orchestras and conductors, and appear as a guest at major festivals and concert halls.
