Filmed at the Voces8 Centre in London, violinist Davina Clarke performs the first movement of Handel’s Sonata XII in F major with harpsichordist Tom Foster, cellist Alexander Rolton and Sergio Bucheli on theorbo.

The movement will feature on Clarke’s upcoming debut album with soprano Mary Bevan, called Sweet Stillness. The album will centre around Handel’s Nine German Arias, set to the text of Barthold Heinrich Brockes.

Clarke is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where she specialised in historically informed performance with Simon Standage and Rachel Podger. She plays on a 1685 Francesco Rugeri violin, generously loaned to her by the Stradivari Trust.

Sweet Stillness will be released on 30 September 2022. More information can be found here.
