In this vintage performance from 1986, violinist James Buswell, cellist Leslie Parnas and pianist Horacio Gutiérrez perform Brahms Piano Trio no.1 in B major at the Alice Tully Hall in New York.

Buswell, who passed away last week at the age of 74, performed at the opening of the Alice Tully Hall in 1969 with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center while still studying. He played the 1720 ‘L’Evèque’ Stradivari violin throughout his life, while Parnas plays the 1698 ‘Rosette’ cello by Matteo Gofriller.
