The violist has won a principal position with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and a teaching position at the Barenboim-Said Foundation in Seville

Violist Karolina Errera has announced that she has secured two positions: principal viola of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and viola lecturer at the Barenboim-Said Foundation in Seville, where she joins the faculty of the Academy of Orchestral Studies. She will begin both roles in the 2025/26 season.
’I’m thrilled to be stepping into and adding these two new roles in my career and grateful for the opportunity to communicate and share music in new and meaningful ways,’ she told The Strad.
Errera was the winner of the 9th Jan Rakowski Viola Competition in 2013 and the the VIII International Yury Bashmet Viola Competition in 2018, as well as a prizewinner at the 2017 Markneukirchen Competition and 2019 Peter Pirazzi Competition.
She completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Arts Berlin with Wilfried Strehle and enrolled for her master’s at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Tabea Zimmermann, completing her studies at the Kronberg Academy.
She released her debut album Songs of Rain with pianist Lilit Grigoryan on Genuin Classics, which earned several Opus Klassik Award nominations.
Her recent performance highlights include her debut with Giya Kancheli ’Styx’ on the stage of Chamber Music Hall of Berlin Philharmonie together with Berliner Capella, Filarmonia Pomorska and Sergi Gili Solé, a performance of Paul Hindemith Der Schwanendreher with Vogtland Philharmonie in Greiz under the baton of David Marlow, her recital debut at Konzerthaus Berlin together with pianist Yannick Rafalimanana, plus numerous chamber music collaborations.
She has participated in several festivals including Festival de Pâques, Moritzburg Festival, Verbier Festival, Krzyzowa Music, Kronberg Academy Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Rheingau Festivals.
