The French ensemble Quatuor Voce has announced a change in personnel, welcoming Hélène Maréchaux as its new violinist. She joins Guillaume Becker, Arthur Heuel and Cécile Roubin.

Maréchaux succeeds Sarah Dayan, who co-founded the quartet 20 years ago. She leaves the quartet to pursue a role at the Paris Conservatoire, where she will teach string quartet and chamber music repertoire.

Maréchaux studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Régis Pasquier and the University of Music and Theatre Munich with Mi-Kyung Lee. She was a member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra from 2010 to 2014 and then joined the Munich Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Champs-Élysées Orchestra of Philippe HERREWEGHE and the baroque ensembles Hofkapelle Münchener and Arcangelo.

Quatuor Voce expressed its appreciation for Dayan on social media: ’Sarah, we wish you happiness, serenity and success in this new stage of your life!

’On our side, it is with enthusiasm and in a spirit of renewal that we welcome the arrival of Hélène Maréchaux. A seasoned and inspiring artist, Hélène fully shares our curiosity for the world around us.

’New projects, new collaborations, and always the same desire to share music with you: the journey continues, and we look forward to continuing it together.’
