Chloe Yofan moves from the second violin section of the orchestra to the new role

The Austin Symphony Orchestra in Texas has announced the appointment of violinist Chloe Yofan as its assistant concertmaster.

Yofan takes up the new role having joined the orchestra’s second violin section in September 2024.

Yofan is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and is currently pursuing as master’s degree at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin while serving as teaching assistant to her teacher, Sandy Yamamoto. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music under Oleh Krysa and also earned a certificate of achievement in chamber music.

She has previously served with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the San Antonio Philharmonic as a substitute violinist. Yofan has attended festivals such as the Green Mountain Chamber Music Institute, Encore Chamber Music Institute and the Aspen Music Festival and School, where she was a violin fellow.
