Austin is the capital of Texas and has a huge music scene; also it’s easy to reach from Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio. My shop is about six miles from the city centre and backs up to a green belt. The workshop is a converted two-car garage, totalling around 400 sq ft, which gives me more than enough room for everything I want to do. I keep repair work to a minimum and focus on new making, restoration, and high-end set-up and tonal adjustments. I make around five basses, three cellos and four violins per year…
