Israeli violinist Miri Ben-Ari will perform at this Sunday's
dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial in Washington DC.
The US-resident Ben-Ari, who has become known for her hip-hop
violin style, is the only non-African-American artist performing at
the dedication ceremony, which will also feature addresses by civil
rights leaders and President Barack Obama.
The memorial in West Potomac Park cost $120m and comprises a 450ft
inscription wall and a 30ft-high relief of King. It was to have
been dedicated on 28 August, but organisers postponed the event
because of Hurricane Irene.
