On 5 September 1920, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra gave its very first concert. 100 years later (to the very hour), the CBSO celebrated its 100th birthday with an online celebration.

Simon Rattle conducted, CBSO’s conductors past and present give interviews and there was a guest appearance from Sheku Kanneh-Mason playing Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No.1.
