In a new video to YouTube, Maxim Vengerov has posted a video performance of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto - from  30 June 1993!

The then 18-year-old Vengerov was accompanied by the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, conducted by Yuri Temirkanov, in this performance in Tokyo, Japan. At this point in his life, Vengerov had already won the 1990 Carl Flesch International Violin Competition, and had studied with Zakhar Bron at the Royal Academy of Music and Musikhochschule Lübeck. At the age of 16 he moved to study at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, shortly before embarking on his international career and winning multiple awards.
