Two violinists, two cellists, a violist and a string quartet were among the recipients

The 33rd Verbier Festival ran from 16 July–2 August in Verbier, Switzerland. In its final week, the festival’s academy announced the recipients of its prizes for 2026. This year the most prestigious award, the Prix Yves Paternot, was given to Georgian soprano Ana Oniani.
Australian cellist Benett Tsai won the Prix Jean-Nicholas Firmenich, an award exclusively for cellists, receiving CHF10,000. The Prix Reyl for violinists was awarded to German–Egyptian–Hungarian violinist Mariam Abouzahra, receiving CHF5,000.
The Goldman Sachs Gives Award was won by the UK-based Fibonacci Quartet, receiving CHF5,000. The CHF5,000 Prix Rodolphe et Helen Tissières for artists of merit was awarded to South Korean violinist Hyunseo Kim.
Swiss cellist Lyam Chenaux won this year’s CHF5,000 Prix Rotary for Swiss musicians. The Prix APCAV, for students who contributed to the festival’s spirit through commitment to community and public engagement, was awarded to French violist Héloïse Houzé. She receives CHF3,000.
