Australian violinists Lerida Delbridge and Robert Smith join the second violin section as leader and tutti violin respectively

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has announced the permanent appointment of three members. They are Australian violinist Lerida Delbridge as principal second violin, Australian violinist Robert Smith as tutti second violin, and Finnish clarinettist Olli Leppäniemi as principal clarinet.
Delbridge joined the SSO in 2013, previously performing as assistant concertmaster. She has performed with orchestras including the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Tasmanian and Melbourne symphony orchestras. Delbridge has attended notable institutions including the Yale Summer School of Music and the International Menuhin Music Academy.
Smith recently graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium, having studied with Michele Walsh. He has performed as concertmaster with the Australian Youth Orchestra, as well as with ensembles including the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Omega Ensemble.
