Following a forced break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sistema EuropeYouth Orchestra’s SummerFest is returning in an online edition that will take place between 21 – 24 and 28 – 30 July 2021.

The festival will feature live-streamed performances from across Europe and lectures and workshops focused on innovative approaches in music education. Topics will include diversity in music, techniques for ensemble teaching, sustainable development, and child safety, all open to Sistema projects as well as the wider public from all over the world.

Sessions include a pop music workshop for young people under the guidance of Latvian violinist Roberts Balanas, an introduction to the Suzuki method in the context of Sistema-inspired programmes and an exchange on working with young people with special needs facilitated by cellist Taru Nygård of Sistema Finland.

All sessions are free of charge and available to everyone. Participants can register here.
