Maestro Arts has announced the signing of Fabio Biondi to its roster. Biondi is known for his virtuosic approach to Baroque and Classical music and founded Europa Galante in 1989. The group has made numerous recordings, including of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, which sold more than a million copies, as well as works by Handel and Scarlatti.

As a conductor, he has brought his insight to modern symphony and chamber orchestras around the world, often programming well-known classics alongside lesser-known discoveries.

Highlights of the 2025–26 season include Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Wiener Symphoniker, Orfeo ed Euridice at Teatro Regio di Parma, and Idomeneo at the Opera of Luxembourg; concerts as both violinist and conductor at Chopin Festival in Warsaw; and diverse programmes with Iceland Symphony Orchestra, SWR Symphonieorchester, Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Chicago Baroque.

He has conducted opera in major houses, including Opernhaus Zürich, Berlin’s Staatsoper unter den Linden and Geneva’s Grand Théâtre. From 2015 to 2018 he was music director of Valencia’s Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, where he conducted productions of works by Donizetti, Rossini, Haydn and Verdi.

He continues to serve as artistic director of Europa Galante, as well as of Farnese Festival.

Biondi shared his insights into his approach to music and conducting in an interview with Maestro Arts: ’Whenever I learn a score, I try to take a fresh approach. First, I concentrate on the original writing of the composer. It’s important to respect their tempo marks and articulation, and not to be influenced by previous interpretations, even though it’s good to listen to versions from the past.’
