‘The First Hour’ guides cellists through the first hour of a daily practice regimen

The Israeli cellist Amit Peled is to launch a series of online classes on 29 August. Based on his book about practising the cello, ‘The First Hour – A Cellist’s Daily Technical Regimen’, the series will consist of seven recorded one-hour classes, released each Saturday, that guide cellists through the first hour of a daily practice routine.
Peled, who has already held two online cello academies since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, says he hopes that ‘at the end of the seven week course you will be able to have a clear mindset for the first hour of your daily practice.’
