The Chicago School of Violin Making has announced that the luthier Antoine Nédélec is to take over as its new Executive Director from the beginning of next year.  An alumnus of the Violin Making School of America, Nédélec has for several years served as a faculty member at the famous Oberlin Violin Making Workshop, where and his colleague Jeff Phillips recently made a bench copy of the Jackson Stradivarius.

He has given lectures at the Violin Society of America and the Library of Congress and served as a guest examiner at the Violin Making School of America. His instruments have won numerous awards at the Violin Society of America competitions, including a silver medal for cello and a gold medal for viola.
