Vienna Philharmonic violinist Daniel Froschauer and bassist Michael Bladerer perform together in the empty Great Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein. The video has been made for the Vienna Philharmonic’s fans in Japan, who are now unable to hear the orchestra perform at Suntory Hall for the foreseeable future due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The two musicians perform three movements from a suite by Reinhold Glière, originally for violin and cello. Froschauer then performs the Adagio from Bach’s unaccompanied Sonata no.1 on his 1727 Stradivari violin, and Bladerer finishes the programme with a melody by Giovanni Bottesini.
