Here’s a performance of Clara Schumann’s beautiful Romance op.22 no.1 starring Augustin Hadelich on both piano and violin. ’Even though she wrote beautiful lyrical lines for the violin,’ he explained in a Facebook post, ‘the most expressive details in this piece are often given to the piano!’
Hadelich has been performing for his online followers throughout the pandemic but has also posted about the importance of supporting artists financially. ’This is the moment when I’d like to ask all music lovers to not hesitate to pay for virtual concerts if you like the festivals and/or artists featured - despite Youtube offering so many free and excellent videos,’ he wrote. ’I’d also like to encourage all of you, if you are able to, to give money to your local concert presenter and orchestra to support them through this crisis.’
