The London-based piano trio receive €15,000 and concert engagements

Trio Isimsiz from the UK won the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition 2015 at the end of last month – and also took the audience price.

The London-based ensemble – violinist Pablo Hernan, cellist Michael Petriov, and pianist Erdem Misirlioglu – received €15,000 and future concert engagements in Scandinavia and Europe. The group, which was formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2009, will also perform at next year’s Trondheim Chamber Music Festival.

Second prize went to the Madison Trio from USA, and third prize to Trio Jade form South Korea.

This year, 25 piano trios representing 27 different countries applied for the competition. The jury included Anthony Marwood, Christian Poltera, Juliet Jopling, Soo-Jin Hong, Øyvind Gimse, Aleksandar Madžar and Ian Brown.
