US cellist Jodie Bevers has died at the age of 81. Bevers was a member of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia orchestra from 1974 to 2005. 

The orchestra said on Facebook about Bevers: 

’The National Academy of Santa Cecilia expresses deep condolences on the passing of Jodie Bevers, cellist of the Academy Orchestra from 1974 to 2005. A musician with great sensitivity, she contributed for over thirty years to the artistic life of the institution, leaving an indelible mark with her professionalism and commitment.

’The loving thoughts of the entire community of Santa Cecilia go to her family and loved ones.’

Bevers was originally from Enid, OK, US. She made several recordings, particulary of early music. These include Benedetto Marcello’s Dodici Sonate per Flauto e Basso Continuo and Tomaso Albinoni’s Pimpinone.
