The senior division of the 22nd Khachaturian International Cello Competition took place from 22–27 December 2025 at the China National Opera House in Beijing, China. The competition was open to cellists of all nationalities between the ages of 16 and 25. Finalists were accompanied by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sergey Smbatyan.

The €10,000 first prize was awarded to both Chinese cellists Wanglele Wang and Shuyu Li. The €5,000 second prize was not given, while the €3,000 third prize went to Chinese cellist Haoran Hao. All three prizewinners also receive global performance opportunities.

Hao also won the prize for the best performance of the competition’s Chinese works, while the award for the best performance of Khachaturian’s works went to Chinese cellist Yijulan Cao.

The jury for this edition comprised Christine J. Lin, Yu Minkin, Dragan Dordevic, Ma Ven, Levon Muradyan, Denis Severin and Razvan Suma.
