When violinist Corinne Chapelle was diagnosed earlier this year with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, her former classmates at the Yehudi Menuhin School (YMS) set about raising money to pay for a course of treatment that was not available in the UK.

Chapelle, who studied with Yehudi Menuhin and Pinchas Zukerman, died in March, before the treatment could be completed. Fundraising has continued, however, to provide assistance to Chapelle’s partner and six-year-old daughter.

A string orchestra of more than 50 YMS alumni, including Corina Belcea, Nicola Benedetti and Alina Abragimova, have recorded a performance of Corinne’s Song, a piece written by composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad as a tribute to Chapelle.
