Not only is Konstantin Boyarsky one of the principal violists at the Royal Opera House and guest professor at London’s Royal College of Music, he’s also an accomplished composer!

Our Masterclass guide in the February 2022 issue, here he performs his very own Viola Concerto. The performance took place on 1 October 2021 with the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Hobart Earle, as part of the 7th International Black Sea Music Festival.

As well as this Viola Concerto, Boyarsky’s compositional output includes several large-scale orchestral works, a ballet Children of War, an opera Pushkin, numerous chamber music works, as well as several concerto cadenzas and arrangements.
