When I was told I had won the Leventritt Competition it was like somebody bursting a balloon. It was a shocking experience. I said, 'Oh my goodness, I have to practise. I have to study'. Until then I wanted to be recognised as a first prize winner. But after being crowned, how could I live up to the expectation?'

Kyung Wha Chung talks frankly about her career as she prepares to return to the stage of London's Royal Festival Hall for the first time in twelve years following a career hiatus due to a hand injury.
