Kate Bush first released her song Running Up That Hill in 1985 on her album Hounds of Love.
Becoming the soundtrack to the new series of the Netflix show Stranger Things, the song saw a ’16,867% streaming increase, which led to it becoming the most audio streamed song, both within the US and globally [in the months of May and June],’ according Rob Jonas, the CEO of Luminate in his piece to Quartz.
Cellist Nicholas Yee has now recorded his own version of the song. On his YouTube account Yee speaks about the piece describing both the harmony and atmosphere of the song as ’perfectly encapsulating the dark but also the heartwarming tone that the show embraces at its most effective.’
