Along with the Mozart violin concertos in G and A major, the D major Concerto is one of the biggest Classical concertos that is often required for orchestral auditions, but also, of course, in concert performances. I personally think that in an audition, we should not make so much of a difference in our interpretation whether we’re doing it with orchestra or with piano…
