The Vienna Piano Trio has announced that it is acquiring a new member: Clemens Hagen, who replaces Matthias Gredler, the group’s cellist of 18 years.

As a founding member of the 37-year-old Hagen Quartet, together with his three siblings, Hagen has performed in venues around the world, and counts Martha Argerich, Evgeny Kissin, Mitsuko Uchida, Valery Afanassiev, Gidon Kremer, Leonidas Kavakos, Maxim Vengerov, Yuri Bachmet and Sabine Meyer amongst his other chamber partners. He has also performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony and the Royal Concertgebouw.

Hagen and his new colleagues (pianist Stefan Mendl and violinist David McCarroll) will be in the UK during the 2019/2020 season, with four Brahms concerts at Wigmore Hall.
