Luigi Sisto examines the late 19th-century instrument

Vincenzo Giacomo Alfonso Postiglione was born in Naples on 14 July 1832. His training began with his father, a cabinet maker, before he probably moved on to Vincenzo Jorio’s workshop in 1847. By 1849 he was working on his own, as demonstrated by the label of the double bass presented here.
