After winning the Rostropovich Cello Competition in 1990, Chicago-born Wendy Warner went on to study with the Russian cellist at the Curtis Institute of Music.

She was a founder member of the Beethoven Project Trio, which in 2009 gave the premiere of a previously unperformed piano trio by the composer.
