In this fundraising initiative from the Wiener Konzerthaus the Auner Quartett leads a string orchestra of some of Austria’s concertmasters and leaders in a performance of Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge, under the baton of Emmanuel Tjeknavorian.

Among the instruments being played are those by Stradivari, Guadagnini, Guarneri, Sanctus Serafin, Geissenhof, Grancino, Maggini, Techler and others – many of them from the collection of the Austrian National Bank.

The aim behind the performance, which was premiered yesterday (17 January) was to allow donations for the Wiener Konzerthaus’s musicians over their website - www.konzertzuhaus.at.
