The Dutch violinist joins the roster for general management

The artist management agency KD SCHMID has announced the signing of violinist Simone Lamsma to its roster for general management. The Dutch violinist has enjoyed an international career, performing with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Symphony, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and hr-Sinfonieorchester.
Christoph Drescher, managing director of KD SCHMID, commented on Lamsma’s signing: ’Her expressive, finely nuanced playing and carefully considered repertoire choices have shaped a career of over 20 years built on substance, depth, and artistic integrity.’
Lamsma said she was ‘thrilled’ to join KD SCHMID. ’I am very grateful for the mutual respect and trust, and for the commitment, enthusiasm and openness in our conversations. I am very much looking forward to our future collaboration together and to working closely with the wonderful people of the KD SCHMID team!’
Lamsma’s 2025/26 season includes performances with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Rotterdam Philharmonic, RAI Torino and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
This summer, she will return to New York’s Lincoln Center and Cleveland Orchestras, and make her BBC Proms debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her recent recordings include the world premiere of Agerfeldt Olesen’s Violin Concerto with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Otto Tausk on DaCapo. She released an album of works by Rautavaara with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra under Robert Treviño on Ondine in 2022.
She plays the 1703 ’Aurora, Foulis’ Stradivari violin, on generous loan by a benefactor.
KD SCHMID’s string roster includes violinists Augustin Hadelich, Hilary Hahn, Eldbjørg Hemsing, Himari, Guido Sant’Anna, Baiba Skride, Arabella Steinbacher, Christian Tetzlaff and TwoSet Violin, and cellists Gautier Capuçon, Jaemin Han, Yo-Yo Ma, Daniel Müller-Schott and Tanja Tetzlaff.
