Dueñas will perform Bruch with the orchestra on Sunday 12 July, after Jansen withdrew due to health-related reasons

Violinist Janine Jansen has withdrawn from her scheduled appearance with the Munich Philharmonic at Klassik am Odeonsplatz for health-related reasons, the orchestra has confirmed.
María Dueñas will step in at short notice to perform Bruch Violin Concerto no.1 on Sunday 12 July, under the baton of Lahav Shani. The orchestra said:
’We wish Janine Jansen a speedy recovery and extend our heartfelt thanks to María Dueñas for accepting our invitation to perform with us at Klassik am Odeonsplatz 2026.’
The Munich Philharmonic described Dueñas as ’one of the outstanding artists of her generation,’ familiar to Munich audiences from previous concerts with the orchestra.
The orchestra will also perform Wagner’s Overture from The Flying Dutchman and Mendelssohn’s Symphony no.3 in A minor ‘Scottish’.
